Patna/Lucknow: The Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) has claimed that it could play a decisive role in the political arithmetic of Uttar Pradesh, with party state president Raghu Mishra asserting that voters from Brahmin, Manjhi, Bind and Nishad communities could influence the outcome in around 125 Assembly constituencies.
Mishra made the remarks at the national executive meeting of the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), held at Hotel Panache in Patna. The meeting was attended by party founder and chief patron and Union MSME Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, national president and Bihar Cabinet Minister Dr Santosh Kumar Suman, Bihar state president and former minister Dr Anil Singh, national spokesperson Shyam Sundar Sharan, youth national president Kamal Parvez, legislators, representatives of various commissions and party workers from across the country.
UP Political Roadmap Presented at Executive MeetWelcoming the senior leadership and delegates, Mishra outlined the party’s assessment of the political situation in Uttar Pradesh. He said the current political scenario offered the HAM an opportunity to expand its organisational and electoral presence in the state.
According to Mishra, voters belonging to the Brahmin, Manjhi, Bind and Nishad communities could have a decisive influence in nearly 125 Assembly constituencies. He claimed that the Manjhi, Bind and Nishad communities in Uttar Pradesh have faith in Jitan Ram Manjhi. Mishra alleged that political leaders and parties that had traditionally sought support from these communities had failed to fulfil their promises and had instead “deceived” them.
He said that if the Hindustani Awam Morcha enters the electoral arena in Uttar Pradesh with a strong organisation under the leadership of Dr Santosh Kumar Suman, its workers could work towards securing representation in both the state Assembly and the Legislative Council.
Brahmin Outreach
Mishra also highlighted what he described as growing dissatisfaction among sections of the Brahmin community with traditional political parties in Uttar Pradesh.
He alleged that several political parties seek Brahmin votes during elections but fail to accord the community adequate representation and respect after coming to power.Mishra said the HAM leadership had sought to send a different message by appointing a Brahmin as its Uttar Pradesh state president. He said the decision by Jitan Ram Manjhi and Dr Santosh Kumar Suman to entrust him with the state leadership demonstrated the party’s commitment to respecting the Brahmin community.‘No Government Without HAM-S Support’
Mishra further claimed that the HAM could emerge as an important factor in determining which political formation comes to power in Uttar Pradesh in the future.
He went a step further, asserting that no political party would be able to form a government in the state without the active support of the Hindustani Awam Morcha.
The UP president also called for strengthening the party’s organisational structure across the state and increasing grassroots mobilisation among its workers.Santosh Suman, Jitan Ram Manjhi to Visit UP
At the conclusion of the national executive meeting, national president Dr Santosh Kumar Suman announced plans for an extensive organisational expansion of the party in Uttar Pradesh. Suman said he would personally tour the state to accelerate the party’s organisational activities.
The party also indicated that its chief patron and Union minister Jitan Ram Manjhi would undertake a series of programmes and public meetings in Uttar Pradesh. The HAM leadership said these initiatives would be aimed at expanding its grassroots presence and positioning the party as a stronger political force in Uttar Pradesh. The claims made at the meeting come as political parties continue to assess caste and community-based voting patterns ahead of future electoral contests in the state.
